Ropes Courses

Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Year-Round

Overview

What to Expect

Big Bear's ropes course is a good fit when your group wants something active and adventurous without committing to a trail, ski day or longer guided tour. Located at Big Bear Snow Play, the outdoor aerial course has two levels of bridges, ropes and balance obstacles roughly 12 to 35 feet above the ground. You move through the course while secured in a climbing harness, so the challenge comes from navigating the obstacles and the height rather than needing prior climbing experience.

The Best Time to Go

The ropes course is advertised as year-round, weather permitting, which makes it more flexible than many Big Bear outdoor activities. Because the course is exposed to mountain weather, wind, storms, snow or other conditions can affect operations even when the rest of your day in town seems manageable. Confirm status before driving over during unsettled weather.

Plan Your Visit

Local Tip

This is especially useful for mixed itineraries: it gives you a real outdoor activity without using half the day. If hiking feels like too much, the lake is windy or you simply need something that fits between other plans, the ropes course can fill that gap better than adding another sightseeing stop.
