 At A Glance

Halloween in The Village brings trick-or-treating, costumes and live music to the heart of Big Bear Lake on October 31, 2026. Families can trick-or-treat throughout The Village from 4–7 PM, followed by an evening performance from returning 80s New Wave tribute band The Spazmatics. The free concert runs from 6–7:30 PM.

About Halloween in The Village

Halloween in The Village is one of Big Bear Lake's main Halloween traditions, turning the shops and streets of The Village into a walkable trick-or-treat destination on October 31. Families can trick-or-treat from participating Village businesses from 4–7 PM, and visitors of all ages are encouraged to dress up and enjoy the evening. For 2026, The Spazmatics return for a free concert featuring 1980s New Wave hits from 6–7:30 PM.

What to Expect

Expect The Village to be much busier than it would be on a typical October evening. Trick-or-treating runs from 4–7 PM, with participating businesses throughout the area welcoming costumed children. The free concert begins at 6 PM and runs until 7:30 PM, so there is an hour of overlap between trick-or-treating and live music. The Spazmatics, an 80s New Wave tribute band and returning Halloween in The Village performer, are scheduled for the 2026 concert. Restaurants and shops remain a big part of the experience, making this an easy event to combine with dinner or time exploring The Village. If you're bringing young children primarily for trick-or-treating, arriving toward the beginning of the event gives you more time before the concert crowd builds.

Parking & Getting There

Parking will be more restricted than during a normal visit to The Village, so don't rely on finding a space directly along the event streets. The City lists free parking at the Bartlett, Knickerbocker, Pennsylvania, Cottage and Indian Village public parking lots. Public parking will not be permitted on portions of Village Drive, Pine Knot Avenue and Cameron Drive during the event. Another option is the free Mountain Transit trolley; the Red, Blue and Gold Lines provide service to The Village. Local tip: don't plan your arrival around finding the closest possible parking space. Walking a few extra blocks or using the trolley can be easier than circulating through The Village looking for parking.

Make a Day of It

Halloween in The Village doesn't begin until 4 PM, so it's easy to make it the final stop of a full fall day in Big Bear. Spend the morning hiking, walking along the lake or exploring another Big Bear attraction before heading into The Village later in the afternoon. By late October, temperatures can change considerably between daytime and evening, so bring warmer layers even if the afternoon feels comfortable. If you're planning dinner in The Village, remember that Halloween is not a normal Saturday night. Restaurants and surrounding streets can be busy, so give yourself extra time rather than trying to squeeze dinner into a tight schedule between trick-or-treating and the concert.

Good To Know

Halloween draws a larger crowd than a typical evening in The Village, and parking restrictions affect portions of Village Drive, Pine Knot Avenue and Cameron Drive. Trick-or-treating and the concert overlap from 6–7 PM, so families focused mainly on trick-or-treating may prefer arriving closer to the 4 PM start. Late-October mountain evenings can also become cold quickly, so bring layers even if the afternoon is mild.
